Director of institutional sales

Key responsibilities

  • Promote and sell the Global Trading Network franchise and the Digital Wealth Management platform to regional buy/sell-side customers such as banks, brokers, asset managers, family offices and independent advisors within the Asia region.

  • Strategically develop the portfolio of institutional B2B and B2B2C clients to achieve sustained revenue growth, upsell to increase share of wallet, maintain high level of client satisfaction.

  • Manage the end-to-end sales process from lead generation and sales presentations, to negotiating and contracting.  Work collaboratively with the pre-sales teams to close deals and plan hand-over and go-to-market for new clients.

  • Provide ongoing relationship management to customers.  Coordinate the client interactions within the firm and work in tandem with the Services and Sales Trading teams during on-boarding, go-live and on an ongoing basis.

  • Deliver revenue targets as agreed with the company. Prepare account reviews and follow through on account plans.

  • Continue to assess the market landscape and competition to advise management on market dynamics and recommended changes.

  • Focus on developing and expanding client relationships and upselling other services to customers.


  • Strong understanding of financial markets, preferably multi-asset/multi-market trading, brokerage, investment and asset management or fintech platforms.

  • 7-10+ years of progressive experience in sales or relationship management.  Business development and partner models is a plus.

  • Extensive connections with regional buy-side/sell-side institutions. Ideally can move existing client relationships or books of business.

  • Skilled in creating trust and building lasting relationships, at all levels in the client’s organization.

  • Strong knowledge of trading and investment products and services, technology-driven trading and asset/wealth management platforms.

  • Experience in applying technology-driven solutions to business challenges and previous exposure to B2B and B2C client segments is very relevant.

  • Passionate, results-driven and a team player.

  • Excellent reporting and communication skills.

  • Excellent intercultural and interpersonal skills, to effectively maintain working relationships with all stakeholders.

  • Fluent in English. Good command of other Asian languages is an advantage.

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
